Children & Young People
A child’s life can be challenging, and sometimes young people can struggle to express what they are feeling or make sense of what is happening in their lives.
Counselling provides a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where young people can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace.
I support children 11+ and use a flexible approach, tailored to each young person, which may include talking, art, therapeutic cards, toys, mindfulness and creative activities. These different methods can help young people communicate and express themselves in ways that feel comfortable for them.
I can support young people experiencing:
● Anxiety, stress or low mood
● Trauma and difficult experiences
● Family and relationship difficulties
● Bullying and friendship issues
● School avoidance or difficulties attending school
● ADHD and emotional wellbeing
● Low self-esteem and confidence
● Difficulties managing emotions
● Loss, change and other life challenges
As a parent or carer, it can be hard to know how best to help when your child is struggling. Counselling offers them a space to feel listened to and understood, while helping them develop greater self-awareness, confidence and coping strategies.
If you’re concerned about a young person and feel they may benefit from some extra support, please get in touch to arrange a free initial consultation.
